Elementary School (Grades K-6)

  • MNSync Online Elementary provides multi-grade, synchronous classroom communities with consistent and daily teacher contact and support.

  • Students engage in learning in all academic areas aligned with Minnesota Academic Standards, including special area classes such as Physical Education, Music, Art, and Media.

  • All MNSync Online Elementary students in grades K-4 receive an iPad. Students in grades 5 and 6 receive a Chromebook.

  • MNSync Online Elementary uses a variety of online tools to create a meaningful and engaging learning experience. Our virtual classrooms meet through Google Meet.

  • In addition to online learning activities, MNSync Online Elementary students will have multiple opportunities to gather, play, and learn together in-person throughout the school year.

  • Elementary learners are strongly encouraged to have an at-home learning coach who can provide assistance and support throughout the learning process.

Middle School (Grades 7 and 8)

  • MNSync Online Middle School utilizes dedicated Rochester Public Schools teachers and curriculum aligned to Minnesota State Academic Standards to provide a synchronous-first, online learning experience using Google Meet.

  • MNSync Online Middle School courses are specifically designed for online learners and include an opportunity for students to explore individualized passions.

  • MNSync Online Middle School teachers use multiple online learning tools to support whole-group, small-group, and individual learning.

  • All MNSync Online Middle School students receive a Chromebook

High School (Grades 9-12)

  • MNSync Online High School uses online-specific Rochester Public Schools teachers and standards-aligned curriculum adapted to fit online learning needs.

  • MNSync Online High School offers both a synchronous-first program with live Google Meets and a fully asynchronous program, Power Up, that utilizes Edgenuity and allows student to learn where and when they do so best.

  • Elective course options include Graphic Arts, Marketing and Management, Housing and Interior Design, Digital Media, Animal and Plant Science, Latin, French, German, Spanish, Work Experience, and many more.

Successful Online Learning

  • Create a designated and personalized learning space.

  • Ensure reliable, high-speed internet connection.

  • Reduce and remove distractions (video games, TV, etc.).

  • Identify an at-home learning coach who can support online learning.

  • Develop a personalized time management plan that includes short-term, attainable goals.

  • Ask for help and communicate regularly.
