Announcements 1/17/2025

Good Afternoon Rockets!  This is your Friday update from the Main Office.

  • Interested in nursing or other healthcare careers? All students are welcome to join HOSA members after school on Tuesday January 21st at 3:40pm in 5-203 (Dr. Reiman's classroom) to learn about Allied Health Careers and programs available at RCTC including nursing and surgical technology. There will be time to ask questions and discuss with RCTC staff about career advice and planning for healthcare careers. We hope you can make it!

  • Lollipops are for sale at the attendance window for $1.00.  All money raised will go towards the 2025 Senior Class Party.  

  • We are continuing our Resilient Rocket fundraising efforts to help our Rocket Family members currently in need. Next week the Rocket Fuel Shop will be open daily offering iced coffees and dirty sodas and adding freeze dried candies! You can also show your support by purchasing and wearing our new Rocket Strong bracelet for just a dollar. Who doesn't need some extra fuel the last week of the semester? See you next week JM!

Good Afternoon Rockets!  This is your Thursday update from the Main Office.

  • On Friday, we will be drawing names for our second quarter attendance prizes.  Students from each grade who attended class 90 percent of second quarter are eligible to be part of the drawing.  We will be drawing one name from each grade for a prize and one of the four students drawn will win a grand prize.   

  • Spanish Club will meet  after school today in Senora Herbeck’s room 3-G20.

  • Lollipops are for sale at the attendance window for $1.00.  All money raised will go towards the 2025 Senior Class Party.

Good Afternoon Rockets!  This is your Wednesday update from the Main Office.

  • Hey JM-  If you have any interest in joining the model UN Conference in Minneapolis over spring break, even if you have never been to a meeting, join us tomorrow morning at 8:00  in Mr. Luedtke's room, 3-210, as we talk about financial aid and registration.  Between financial aid and the Model UN club, this three day conference can be 100% free!  If you are interested but can't come to the meeting, stop by and talk to Mr. Luedtke some time in the next week.

  • Sisters Saves Sisters will meet after school today in room 3-109.

Good Afternoon Rockets!  This is your Tuesday update from the Main Office.

  • Starting Wednesday, lollipops will be sold at the attendance window for $1.00.  All the money raised will go towards the 2025 Senior Class Party.  

  • Tomorrow the cafeteria will be introducing a new menu item for lunch, Chicken Coconut Curry will be served in Line 1. Give it a try!

  • Hey Rockets! HOSA's next meeting is on Tuesday, January 14th, after school in Dr.Reiman's room 5-203. Join us for some trivia and observing cat dissections in Anatomy Class. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to connect, learn, and have fun. See you there!

  • Attention FCCLA members  We will have a meeting today after school in room 2-203.  Three members will be presenting their projects. There will be lots of other items on the agenda as well.  Thank you!

  • There will be a brief track and field info meeting tomorrow Wednesday, January 15 at 3:40 in the cafeteria.

  • JM French Club will be meeting this Thursday, January 16 from 8:15-8:45 AM in Madame Atwood's room 3-G17.

  • Cancer sucks and we here at John Marshall want to rid the world of it. If you do too, please join the Relay For Life committee as we prepare for our event to raise money for cancer cures. The next meeting is tomorrow morning at 8:30 AM in room 2-201. All are welcome!

  • Spanish Club will be hosting ACT prep in Spanish. We will meet every Tuesday after school for 12 sessions starting today.  This will be offered to anyone who would like to learn techniques of test taking and to get ready for the ACT.  We will meet every Tuesday after school from 3:30 to 5:00 pm in room 3-G22.  Look for more information in the flyers around the school and with Mrs. Herbeck.

  • If you would like to sign up for an interview time for Drivers Ed, please head to the counseling office to sign up for a time.  If you have any questions, please see the flyers posted throughout the building. 

  • If you are interested in fundraising for the LA fires, join the Red Cross Club on Thursday after school in Ms. Felmlee’s room 5-G03 to make bracelets that will be sold for a good cause!

  • John Marshall Wrestling had a very successful showing at the Darrell Jaeger Varsity Invitational on Saturday in Stewartville.

    Senior Evan Hernandez placed 1st at 215 lb class, 7th Grader Dana Nelson placed 1st at 127lb class, Senior Ethyn Bertschinger placed 3rd at 160lb class., Junior Jaxson Sebring placed 5th at 133 lb class. Congratulations to all JM wrestlers that competed at the tournament.  Way to go Rockets!
