Hello, Future RPS kindergartener

Dear parents and caregivers of our future kindergarteners,

Spring has finally arrived, and that means we are busy preparing for your kindergartener. Over the last few months, we have shared important information on Registration, Early Childhood Screening, School-Age Child Care (SACC), PTA/PTSA, and what you need to know about kindergarten transportation. In this month's newsletter, we are focusing on Student Health Services. We feel strongly about providing safe and healthy learning environments for all students and want to be prepared to support every child upon entering our buildings.

Student Health Information

The safety of our students and staff is a top priority. Our Department of Student Health Services is a key component to meeting this daily goal. If your child has special considerations (such as food allergies, diabetes, asthma, seizures, etc.), we need to know about this before your child begins kindergarten. Please visit our Student Health Services page for more information.

Immunizations

The State of Minnesota requires several immunizations before a child enters school. Before your child's fifth birthday, we recommend contacting your child's primary care physician to schedule a Well Child Checkup for your incoming kindergarten student. Schedule early to ensure your child will have the needed immunizations before their first day of school. Students will not be allowed to start school on the first day if they do not have their immunizations or the proper exemption documentation. Visit the immunizations page on our website to see a full list of immunizations by age.
