The School Age Child Care (SACC) team is at the time of year when we plan for summer and next school year, and we wanted to let you know of a change in process for this year. We have heard from many of you that our past registration method was very stressful, starting at the beginning of the work day with pressure to get in and register for both summer and the following fall before all the spots fill.
We're doing three things to help relieve this pressure.
- We are working hard to expand the number of children we can serve, by hiring additional staff. You may have read about how we are doing this on the Attendance Options Redesign page. If you are interested in working with SACC, please apply at www.rochesterschools.org/apply.
- We are splitting summer registration (April 17) from fall registration (May 15), to avoid choosing one or the other to do first and possibly risking being too late for the other. You'll still pay only one registration fee.
- Finally, we are moving registration earlier in the day (beginning at 6 a.m.), to make it possible to complete this process before your work day begins. Be assured, we'll be in the office bright and early these days to support the process from behind the scenes.
