Brandon Macrafic is the Principal of Student Centered Learning Models at CTECH, MNSync Online, and P-TECH. Brandon is a former RPS student who attended Lincoln Elementary, Kellogg Middle School, and John Marshall High School.
Why did you choose to work at RPS after attending RPS?
I started my teaching career at RPS, then I left for a number of years and, eventually, I found myself wanting to return to RPS to give back to the district and community that gave me so much growing up.
What's your favorite part about your RPS job?
I get to work with three different schools that provide unique student-centered learning models that students and families in many other districts don't have access to.
What's a challenging part of your RPS job?
Keeping track of a calendar with three different schools :)
What is one thing that is noticeably different about RPS today than when you attended as a student?
None of the schools that I now work with existed when I was a student!
What aspect of RPS are you happy to see hasn't changed since you were a student?
I recently attended a John Marshall football game and I was so happy to see that they still set off fireworks after each Rocket touchdown!!!
Who was an RPS teacher that had a positive impact on you and why?
Mrs. Geraldine Ferdinande (Lincoln at Mann, 5th and 6th grade)
What about your RPS education would you attribute to getting you where you are currently?
The relationships I developed and the support I received at Lincoln at Mann where we looped as a class for two years.
