Former Student/Current Staff Highlight

Kelly Kranz is the Office Manager at Franklin Elementary. Kelly is a former RPS student who attended Franklin Elementary, Willow Creek Middle School, and Mayo High School.

Why did you choose to work at RPS after attending RPS?

I have loved working with kids for as long as I can remember and have always wanted to be a positive role model, especially for kids who really need it.

What is your favorite part of your RPS job?

I love interacting with the students and forming relationships with kids during their elementary years. It's so fun to see them grow throughout their years here.

What is one thing that is noticeably different about RPS today than when you attended as a student?

There are so many different program offerings now, more extracurriculars, and more supports available for students than there were when I was in school.

What aspect of RPS are you happy to see hasn’t changed since you were a student?

The positive interactions between students and staff. I love that students look up to school staff and see them as positive role models.

Who was an RPS teacher that had a positive impact on you and why?

Mrs. Sheila Perry was my fourth grade teacher at Franklin and I will always remember her bright smile and positivity. I loved going to school because of her. Mrs. Kristi Anderson was my health teacher at Mayo High School and someone I have always looked up to. She went out of her way to connect with students and make sure everyone knew her door was always open if we needed a listening ear. I will always remember when she sang "I hope you dance" to us on one of the last days of school.

What about your RPs education would you attribute to getting you where you are currently?

The connections staff have with students. I love seeing staff support students in extracurriculars. The relationships that are made in this district are really special.
