Thank you, parents and caregivers, for all you do to support students! On national parent involvement day, we celebrate all that parents/caregivers do to team with Rochester public schools in support of student success! When families are engaged with student learning, children are more likely to have better attendance and engagement in class, greater self esteem, more positive attitudes and behavior, increased graduation rates and college/postecondary pursuits. It was a beautiful morning for the ribbon-cutting of Longfellow's new solar panels! After the brief ceremony, some of our students, faculty, and community members in attendance got to go onto the roof to view the new panels. Thank you to all those who attended and to Ideal Energies for the installations! These solar panels were made possible by grants from the Minnesota Department of Commerce.

Rochester public schools logo. Tech 535 logo. PTECH 535 is a pioneering education reform initiative created to prepare young people with the academic, technical, and professional skills required for high wage, high skills, and high need regional careers. This public-private partnership allows students to take high school and college coursework simultaneously while engaging in industry-guided workforce development in one of two pathways: Nursing Pathway with Mayo Clinic and information technology pathway with ibm. Without a doubt my favorite thing about working here is the community we have built at tech. Our staff is truly dedicated to building relationships with students and helping the students foster relationships with each other in their cohort - Leah baethke, literacy teacher. I think the impact on the community is the fact that we will have students who because of their participation in ptech will attain a college education and career that they might not have been able to without the tech experience and support.
